The 2025 Annual Meeting of the Nechako Watershed Roundtable, entitled "Roots of Resilience: Forests and Water for a Sustainable Future" took place on October 14th from 9:00am to 12:30pm. The meeting was held online. On June 2nd and 3rd, 2025, the NWR held their Spring Technical Meeting entitled, "Action in the Nechako: Progress and Potential Across the Watershed". The event was held in partnership with Nak'azdli Whut'en on their traditional territory in Fort St. James. 50 participants attended the two-day event including government representatives, academics and NGO's. We are grateful to have been able to spend time on-the-water and at the Nak'azdli Hatchery with members of the community. Thank you again to Nak'azdli Whut'en for co-hosting this years event and to all of our speakers and participants. The Nechako Watershed Roundtable held their 2024 Climate Change Adaptation & Resilience in the Nechako Watershed workshop on November 29, 2024. The workshop was in person held on Lheidli T'enneh Traditional Territory at the Sandman Signature Hotel, Prince George. The event, entitled "The Water that Connects Us" was expertly facilitated by Dan George, Four Directions Management Services (FDMS). The morning featured a variety of speakers covering environmental, social, health and economic forecasts for the region with increasing climate impacts. In the afternoon, facilitated dialogue clarified priorities and the need for collaboration, reaffirming the collective commitment to action. British Columbia Watershed Governance: Celebrations, Considerations and the Path Forward Fire, Flood & Drought: Climate Adaptation in the Nechako Watershed Digital Dimensions of the Nechako: Data Storage, Access and Ownership The Nechako Watershed Roundtable is grateful to the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation for the opportunity to host the 2023 Spring Technical Meeting on their Traditional Territory. This meeting was an opportunity to connect and collaborate through a hybrid event held at the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre. Reconnecting: Collaboration Across the Watershed The 2022 Annual Meeting of the Nechako Watershed Roundtable in October was an opportunity to connect in-person at the House of Ancestors “Uda Dune Baiyoh” Conference Centre in Prince George. The next Annual Meeting will be held in-person, on October 27th... On May 26 the Nechako Watershed Roundtable hosted its Spring Technical Meeting, which included updates on the Water Sustainability Act, modernization of land use planning, youth engagement, lakes monitoring and work on the NWR Strategic Planning Process. The Nechako Watershed Roundtable’s annual meeting was held October 30, 2019 in the home of the Nak’azdli Whut’en in Fort St. James. The Nechako Watershed Roundtable (NWR) annual meeting was co-hosted by the Nechako Watershed Roundtable and the Integrated Watershed Research Group at UNBC on October 12, 2017 at the Village Inn in Vanderhoof, BC. The Fraser Basin Council, in partnership with the Nechako Watershed Roundtable (NWR), hosted two public open house sessions on June 23, 2016 for people to learn about the development of the Nechako Watershed Strategy and to share their ideas. FBC and the Nechako Watershed Roundtable hosted three other community meetings about the Nechako Watershed in May 2016 at Fraser Lake (May 9), Fort St. James (May 10) and Burns Lake (May 11).
